The two sisters sang with their family group The Singing Greens for most of their life before embarking on a new musical journey. The sisters derived the name 2nd Generation from the fact that they are now the second generation in their family to carry on in full-time music ministry. The trio is completed with Rocky Logan an exciting young man with a fire for ministry that is only matched by the sisters. |

The Shine On Trio consists of Roger and Cathy Troutman and Brenda
Quick. Compared to a lot of groups in Southern Gospel Music, the
Shine On Trio has a relativly short history. We began singing
together in our home church, the Irmo Church of God in Irmo, SC in
2006. Each one of us has always had a desire to sing for the Lord but
never really imagined how He would use us to win souls for His
kingdom. Before moving to South Carolina, Roger had a solo ministry
in Indiana but had always wanted to be a part of a group, trio or
quartet. After hearing Cathy and Brenda sing together he asked if
they would like to join with him and form a trio. After a lot of
begging, they agreed and as they say, the rest is history, in more
ways than one. Not only did they start singing together in church but
a few months later Roger and Cathy got married. No begging involved!! |

Southern Heritage |
|
Rose Gilley: Sings alto and sometimes lead. She previously had a solo ministry for many years before forming Southern Heritage. Rose is a born again Christian and loves serving the Lord daily and in the music ministry that HE has given her.
Deana Brown: Roses daughter is soprano for the group; she does
a lot of the lead, but also sings harmony on a lot of their songs.
She is a wonderful Christian lady who is active in her home church
when not out singing with Southern Heritage. She loves being in the
music ministry and being a mom to 3 beautiful children. |

Using their God-given talents, The Texans have been blessed with many awards throughout the years. As the Master's Four, they held the title "Texas Group of the Year" from 1975 through 1982. They were designated by the Ozark Music Awards as "Group of the Year" in 1985, 86, 87 and 88 until the awards were discontinued in 1989. In 1987 and 1988, they received the honor of being voted "Entertainers of the Year" In 1999, The Texans became a full-time traveling ministry performing over 300 concerts a year. They have shared the stage with many great speakers including Cecil Todd, Jamie Ragel, TD Jakes, Charles Stanley, Paul Vic, Jesse Duplantis, Jerry Falwell, Tim Lahaye, and Joe Wright, just to name a few. In 2006, the Lord opened the door for the group to settle down a bit. Then in 2009, with their same mission in mind, The Texans, opened the Top Of The Mountain Dinner Theater on the grounds of The Great Passion Play, which presents the greatest story ever told the final week in the life of Jesus Christ -- May through October in Eureka Springs , Arkansas .

Tim Ooten
|
|
Tim Ooten, from Lenore, WV, is no stranger to Southern Gospel music. Shortly after accepting Jesus into his life, he began singing at the age of 12. He grew up as a pastor's kid, and has served as the Minister of Music in his church for years. Realizing his love for music, and the anointing, he pursued his call to the ministry of Southern Gospel where he traveled with a group called the Miracles. After devoting 15 years to them, Tim felt God leading him to make a change. He joined the National recording artist, Chuck Compton, as The Comptons. Traveling fulltime was a dream come true for Tim. The Lord allowed them to minister in a large variety of venues such as the main stage at the National Quartet Convention, Singing in the Sun, and GMT. All of this was being used to prepare Tim for the ministry that God had set aside for him. In March of 2010, Tim Ooten released his first solo album entitled, "A New Journey" with Homeland Inspirational Group. His first radio single, "Walk Like It" was aired on many radio stations. The second release was the song "If That Mountain Don't Move" and his current radio release is "Gloryland Train" on Patterson Promotions Vol. 7. |

The 1970s saw many changes in the world: the first resignation of a U.S. president, the end of the Vietnam War, runaway inflation, oil shortages, and the beginning of rampant terrorist attacks. It was a time of turmoil, a time of people searching for meaning to life, and a time when the Word of God needed to be presented in earnest to a world that seemingly had lost its direction. It was during this period that the Ascension Quartet, a Southern Gospel group with a mission to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ in song, was formed. The group set ministry not entertainment as its goal. Not content with just the short-term aim of sharing happiness for an hour or two, the Ascension shared with people how to have the joy of knowing Jesus as their personal Savior for a lifetime. Todays Ascension Quartet members still share this same endeavor. Based in Lebanon, Missouri, this group travels thousands of miles each year bringing a message of love and joy through song to congregations large and small. With the intentions of ministry over money, this non-profit group is made of members who have been raised in church and understands evangelism and that winning people to Christ is the main reason they sing and tell about the love of Jesus. The qualities of each man come together as a team that has the work of the Lord at heart.

Since entertaining the entertainment business, Hernando, Mississippi native, 21 year old country music artist KC Johns has had star quality written all over her. She got her start performing in front of crowds when she followed in her mothers footsteps and entered the rodeo circuit competing in barrel racing for the majority of her life until the music bug bit her elevating her interest in country music to a whole new level. She immersed herself in learning all the aspects of becoming a well-rounded entertainer by taking up guitar, writing her own songs, and performing live everywhere and anywhere that she could including memorable performances on the same rodeo circuit where she once raced.

White River, known as one of the pioneering bands of Christian Country Music formed in 1985 as Jubilation, singing mainly Southern Gospel Music. After three or four years the decision was made to sing and play with a commercial country sound. The name was changed to White River, boots and jeans became the stage uniform and Christian Country Music was born. Members of the band wrote most of the songs and everybody played an instrument. White River is known for songs such as, What Ya Gonna Do?, Rodeo Preacher, Going Away Party, I Like My Gospel Country, He Didn't Throw The Clay Away and more. The band retired in 1994. In 2012 founding members Gene Reasoner, Bruce Haynes, Benny Ray Wood, Bob Ashley and J R Bradford decided to do a reunion tour as White River Reunion. The tour took place February 10-12, 2012 and was a resounding success. White River Reunion is excited to announce that 2013's reunion will take place on KWFC's Southern Gospel Cruise! |
