Mobile Alabama

MIAMI, Apr 16, 2004-- In conjunction with the launch of the first year-round cruise schedule from Mobile, Ala., -- four- and five- day Mexico voyages aboard the "Fun Ship" Holiday beginning Oct. 16, 2004 -- Carnival Cruise Lines is offering special introductory fares of $279 per person.

On this one-of-a-kind cruise program, the 1,452-passenger Holiday will depart from the Port of Mobile Thursdays on four-day long weekend cruises to Cozumel and Mondays and Saturdays on five-day cruises to the popular western Caribbean ports of Cozumel and Calica/Playa del Carmen or Costa Maya, all sunny tropical destinations offering magnificent beaches, world-famous snorkeling and diving, championship golf, interesting sites and attractions, great shopping and distinctive Mexican charm.

"We're delighted to have Mobile as our newest homeport, and these low introductory rates are an excellent way for consumers to experience this exciting and affordable 'Fun Ship' cruise option," said Bob Dickinson, Carnival president and CEO.

He added that the new four- and five-day sailings from Mobile continue Carnival's efforts at expanding the short-cruise market, the fastest growing segment of the cruise industry. This year alone, Carnival will operate 39 different short "Fun Ship" itineraries from 13 different homeports -- the most in the cruise industry.

While aboard the Holiday, guests enjoy a diversity of signature "Fun Ship" amenities, including 10 lounges and bars, three swimming pools, a 115-foot- long water slide, an Internet cafe, full casino gambling, and a comprehensive golf program featuring professional instruction aboard ship and excursions to some of Mexico's most beautiful and challenging courses.

Dining options include two full-service formal restaurants with extensive menus and wine lists, complimentary 24-hour stateroom service, and a poolside eatery offering casual alternatives for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as a 24-hour pizzeria.

There's also "Camp Carnival," a complimentary children's program with fun, supervised activities for kids ages 2-15. Other amenities include lavish Vegas-style entertainment, on-board duty-free shopping, and a Spa Carnival, health and fitness facility.

The Holiday currently operates four- and five-day cruises from New Orleans and will continue this program through Oct. 9, prior to launching service from Mobile Oct. 16.

Carnival is currently accepting reservations on the Holiday's new departures from Mobile. Prices for the four- and five-day cruises are based on double occupancy, valid for selected sailings and subject to change without notice. Special rates for third and fourth guests sailing in the same stateroom are also available.
