In the wake of the devastation left by Hurricane Katrina, the cruise industry is lending its aid and support through a variety of means. Members of the International Council of Cruise Lines (ICCL) and Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) have donated more than $2.6 million in relief support thus far and that number will continue to rise as cruise lines contribute additional funds.

And, in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the Travel Industry Association of America in partnership with the Travel & Tourism Coalition, the Travel Business Roundtable and USDM.net will be launching a job bank website on September 15, 2005 offering hurricane relief jobs to help displaced workers find new employment as quickly as possible.

The Katrina hurricane relief job bank will be designed to take resumes from job-seekers and job listings not only from travel-related companies, but from all businesses across American industries.  The goal is to help provide work as quickly as possible for those who have been displaced.  CLIA and non-CLIA travel agencies and agents in the Gulf Coast region have valuable skills and may be in need of work. With your help, we can make it happen.
