Fuel Costs Woes!  Carnival raised their fuel surcharge once again to $9pp per day for any new bookings made on June 12th or later.  Expect the other cruise lines to follow suit.

Did you get your stimulus check yet?  If you have you might notice that the amount of your check may be just the right amount to put down as a deposit on a dream cruise vacation!  You have worked hard and you deserve a great vacation this year!  Uncle Sam has just sent you the deposit for your cruise!  Give us a call and we'll help you start the process and get your 2008 vacation planned.

June 19th the Travel Channel is going to be featuring "Great Cruise Weekend".  Check your local listings for times.

This week's Cruiseman Contest is going to be very interesting.  "Old Timer" cruisers may have a slight advantage, but not much.  Check it out and submit your guess - I mean your answer.

If you know anyone who needs our services, would you please refer them to us?   Thank You.

Tax Holiday!   What to Do With Those Tax Rebates

Starting in May, more than 130 million Americans began receiving a little extra spending money from the U.S. government. And a large number of people are choosing to spend their rebates and refunds on a well-deserved vacation.

"People are tightening their belts, but they also realize this is a one-time rebate. They may spend some of it on home repairs or on paying down debt, but they still feel they deserve to get away," notes economist Stephen Morse, director of the Tourism Institute at the University of Tennessee.

The average rebate check is $600, which is more than enough to make a deposit on a 7 night cruise vacation for two people!  Give us a call and we will help you plan your 2008 dream vacation, and let Uncle Sam pay your deposit!  What a Deal!

Attention East Coast Cruisers!

Carnival is going to reposition the Carnival Pride to Baltimore in Sept. 2009 - "full-time" doing two great alternating itineraries. This is a huge development for East Coast cruising!  You will want to book these well in advance, because demand is going to be huge!  See details in your Cruiseman News.

Did You Know?

In 2007, 9.57 million Americans took a cruise vacation representing 76% of the total 12.56 million guests carried on CLIA member cruise lines. Based on this year's study, 33.7 million Americans stated intent to cruise within the next three years.

"Their high satisfaction with a wonderfully diverse cruise product drives their intention to take more cruises. In fact, cruisers represent the ideal travel prospect, because of their broad interest in all types of travel and willingness to spend on high value experiences."

Seven Things You'd Never Do At Home

  2. Island Hop.  Today Grand Cayman. Tomorrow Key West!
  3. Snooze Away The Afternoon on a white sand Caribbean beach. Sweet dreams guaranteed.
  4. Cruise The Midnight Buffet. Middle-of-the-night calories don't count!
  5. Pretend You're James Bond at the poker table. Tux, martini, and Bond girl optional.
  6. Watch The Sun Rise over the ocean from your own private balcony. You're the king (or queen) of the world!

Cruiseman Funnie

Three retirees, each with a hearing loss, were playing golf one brisk March day.

One remarked to the other, “Windy, isn’t it?”

‘No,” the second man replied, “it’s Thursday.”

And the third man chimes in, “So am I.  Let’s go get something to drink!”
