CELEBRITY/RCI
Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. announced an amendment to its cancellation policies for Mediterranean sailings with both Celebrity Cruises (www.celebrity.com) and Royal Caribbean International (www.royalcaribbean.com). Effective immediately, any guests who, for any reason, choose to cancel their Mediterranean cruise prior to May 1 will receive a future cruise credit equal to 90 percent of the cancellation fees imposed by the company.
The offer applies to the following European sailings:
Royal Caribbean International: Brilliance of the Seas, May 12 through October 26 and Splendour of the Seas, May 24 through October 18
Celebrity Cruises: Constellation, September 12 through October 13 and Millennium, May 11 through October 26
The credits may be used on any sailing except for those during Christmas and New Years. They are valid for one year from issue date, are not transferable and have no cash value.
COSTA
Costa waives cancellation penalties on all its spring trans-Atlantic crossings and Europe cruises. With Costas complimentary policy, passengers who cancel receive a full refund of their cruise-only fare, as long as they make the decision to cancel by April 30.
CRYSTAL
Crystal Cruises launched Cruise Protection Program-PLUS, an optional insurance upgrade that allows travelers to cancel for any reason up to three days before departure. Passengers will receive a 90 percent cruise credit of the cancellation fee valid for any sailing within 12 months of the original sail date. The policy is available on all cruises that depart between May 15 and Dec. 31 on Crystal Harmony, Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity. The per-person cost of the upgrade is $200 for fares fewer than $8,000 or 3 percent of the fare for cruises costing more than $8,000, and is in addition to the lines standard travel insurance.
FIRST EUROPEAN
For any Europe itinerary booked and paid by April 30 that sail in 2003, First European Cruises is letting passengers cancel for any reason with no penalty up to 72 hours before departure and get full credit for payments in the form of a future cruise credit, valid for a year. Applies to all spring, summer and fall cruises. There is no additional cost for the modified policy.
HOLLAND AMERICA LINE
Holland America offers the only trip cancellation program in the industry that offers cash back for canceling for any reason prior to 24 hours before departure. The Cancellation Protection Plan, the standard plan, allows guests to cancel for any reason up to 24 hours prior to departure and receive a refund of 80% of any applicable cancellation fees. The CPP Platinum Plan refunds 90%. For most cruises and tours, a full refund (except for amounts paid for Cancellation Protection Plan) will be made for written cancellations received by Holland America, 300 Elliott Ave. West, Seattle, WA 98119 at least 76 days before the date on which you are to commence travel (by air, rail, sea or otherwise). Passengers who cancel after that date for any reason, including medical or family reasons, are subject to the following per-person cancellation fees:
75-46 days before commencing travel: an amount equal to deposit requirement
45-16 days before commencing travel: 50% of gross fare
15 days or less before commencing travel: 100% of gross fare

PRINCESS
The Princess "Ultimate 2 For 1" Sale on Mediterranean cruises in Europe this summer now includes complimentary Princess Travel Care Insurance with Cancel for Any Reason' coverage. Princes has added in complimentary Princess Travel Care to ensure passengers feel comfortable with booking a cruise now and knowing it can be canceled at any time they choose. Princess Travel Care allows passengers to choose to postpone their vacation for any reason they wish. The plan ensures that passengers receive 100 percent cash reimbursement of non-refundable cancellation fees in the event a covered illness, injury or other specified event forces them to cancel their vacation. In addition, passengers who choose to delay their vacation for any reason not reimbursable under the insurance portion of the plan will recover 75 percent of their cancellation penalty as a future cruise credit provided by Princess. Passengers can cancel at any time up until departure to be eligible for cash or credit reimbursement.
RADISSON SEVEN SEAS
Radisson Seven Seas Partnership Assurance Program allows clients to cancel any Europe cruise departing on or before August 31, 2003. Cancellation penalties to be applied to a Goodwill Cruise Certificate for future voyages on any of the lines ships (except the Paul Gauguin) booked and used prior to September 1, 2004. There is no fee to participate in this program. The Certificate will be equal to the cruise fare cancellation fee less an administration fee of $200 per person.
No refunds will be given on any cruise no-shows or cancellations that occur less than 4 days prior to sailing day. Requests for refunds must be in writing to NCL. Cruise tickets, air tickets, transfer coupons and/or vacation packagevouchers must be returned before a refund can be made. Refund processing time is about 3 to 4 weeks. Air tickets issued by our Air/Sea Department for passengers on our Air/Sea programs are refundable only to Norwegian Cruise Line. Group passenger policies may differ.
ROYAL OLYMPIA
With Royal Olympias new no-penalty cancellation policy, you can book a summer European cruise and cancel without penalty up to 24 hours prior to sailing. The new nopenalty cancellation policy applies to all of Royal Olympias itineraries in the Aegean and Baltic Seas, and the Norwegian Fjords, the Mediterranean and the Greek Isles. Guests who book and pay for a Summer 2003 cruise, departing March through November, may cancel their reservation up to 24 hours prior to sailing, and receive a full credit applied to a future Royal Olympia cruise taken within one years time. There is no additional charge for this option.
SEABOURN
Seabourn Cruise Line has introduced an enhanced insurance option that allows passengers to cancel for any reason up to 24 hours before departure and receive 90 percent of the payment as a credit. The SeabournShield Plus is a supplemental option to the lines SeabournShield travel insurance that will allow guests to cancel bookings for any reason. Guests who opt for the new SeabournShield Plus coverage can cancel within the published penalty period up to 24 hours prior to departure. Under the terms of the policy, which is available for sale starting today, guests who cancel will receive a cruise credit equal to 90 percent of the paid fare that can be used on any Seabourn cruise departing within one year of the original departure date. SeabournShield Plus is sold at a non-refundable premium of $295 per person. It must be purchased at the time of deposit as an added option on the comprehensive SeabournShield travel policy that covers cancellation or interruption for medical reasons, emergency medical transportation, baggage damage or delay and other contingencies. The coverage is available for Seabourn cruises of any length departing between June 1 and December 31, 2003.
SILVERSEA
Silversea has modified the premium costs to purchase the Reassurance Program. Applies to all bookings made on or after March 12, 2003 to be effective for all voyages departing on or after May 1, 2003 the cost will be $100 per person (down from $250pp) when purchased in conjunction with GuestCare Insurance. If purchased without GuestCare Insurance, the cost will be $250 per person (down from $500pp). This modification is effective for all voyages departing on or after May 1, 2003 and applies to 2003 voyages made in 2003. The Reassurance Program gives travelers a Reassurance Cruise Credit for any and all cancellation penalties, regardless of why they choose to cancel.
